- Since the answer may be of general interest ...
-
- The ADE (Amiga Developers Environment) is continuing to improve. Gdb
- is now ported and works quite well (thanks Hans!). It is a standard
- part of the file tree that I'm right now in the process of building
- and testing, and will be in the next ADE snapshot.
-
- I still need to merge some patches into the 2.6 binutils linker that
- fix problems with C++ support and add support for "linker flavors".
- These will need to be tested with another full multistage build of the
- tree, which takes about 6 days of full time compiling on an A4000 with
- 40Mhz warp engine. I also want to update some of the other utils
- which have seen new FSF releases since the last full update that I did
- for FreshFish 10.
-
- All of this means that the next ADE snapshot won't be for about 3
- weeks, but I will probably make gdb, ixemul, and binutils archives
- available on our ftp server for people that want to do a partial
- update for the current snapshot.
-
- You can get on the ADE mailing list by sending mail to
- "majordomo@ninemoons.com" with the body of the message containing just
- the word "help". You will get back mail telling you how to find out
- what lists are available and how to subscribe. If you are interested
- in the ADE, I'd recommend subscribing to the "ade" list. There is
- usually no need for non-developers to subscribe to the other "ade-*"
- lists since the chatter among the developers will just clutter your
- mailbox. All important announcements are made to the "ade" list.
-
- The ADE is available for ftp from ftp.ninemoons.com:pub/ade/... It is
- also available on CD-ROM for those that have slow or expensive ftp
- connections. Unfortunately, because of the low volume, the CD-ROM
- version is done on CD-R (CD recordable), written one CD at a time.
- This makes it relatively expensive ($50 US) because making one ties up
- our machine for 30 minutes at a time, plus requires someone to take an
- hour out of their day to set up the recorder, write the CD, test the
- CD, etc.
